Re: Is It worth the buy (..Countblah..)

I have been contemplating the used 911 market for several months now but my interests have been leaning towards the 1988-1991 911 Coupes. My real reservation in sticking my foot in the water has been finding someone to maintain the big things that I don't have the stomach for. The other concern is air conditioning for daily driving... does anyone have any experience with this?

I can't speak for those years, I know the earlier years were known for horrible a/c. I would say the 964's probably had it sorted - they are similar to the 993 which had decent air. My a/c works great - it's not VR6 a/c but it is a preety small cabin that your cooling off. The best part is, I can't feel it when I turn it on and the temp gauge doesn't rise. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: Is It worth the buy (Mr. Ginster)

Thanks guys, I am seriously considering a 964 since they seem to be the most modern of the ones that I can rationally consider buying.
Besides Fleabay and Pelican Parts where are the best places to find ones listed for sale? I am considering a C2 coupe of 1990-1991 vintage. Did you consider the 944/968's as well when you bought yours Frank?

993 or 997- most Porsche enthusiasts don't consider the 996 a real 911- and that's reflected in resale - obviously.. I've been looking at 993's in the 40K range and you found a car with 1/4 the milage and neweer for the same

thanks for the info man. I had no idea

I hold porsche high because (even though they made that suv thingy) they, like Ferrari have never made econo cars to just make money. True sports car manufacturers!!
