Interested in meeting with a producer or engineer for a recording project I want to execute in 2006.
Basically I program music and am preparing vocal arrangements for now. Next step is to find someone (any pointers in the right direction appreciated too) who can help me in the recording studio to get my "vision/sound/production" packaged.
Looking for person interested in the europop genre as if this were geared for UK market. I am influenced by Depeche Mode, Marc Almond (Soft Cell), Daft Punk, and throw in some Kylie Minogue for fun. This should be a highly digitalized and overproduced production.
Timeline is to record in early 2006; for now, just laying the ground work.
Thanks for any leads.......

Re: Searching for music producer/engineer in DC/NoVa/MD (garethusa)

I highly recommend Marco Delmar in VA.

Marco has been voted Producer of the Year by the Washington Area Music Association (WAMA) for the past five years and Studio Engineer of the Year for the past three years. Marco has also produced and engineered projects at BIAS, Avalon, BeBop Productions, Inner Ear, and many other top recording studios in the Washington DC area. Marco has garnered a client base that includes emmet swimming, Lisa Moscatiello, Esmirelda, Janine Wilson, Patty Reese, Carey Colvin, Touch, Jennifer on Sunday, Smartbomb, and many other national, local and regional acts. Many of Marco's clients are WAMA award winners. Marco is also the former guitar player for the Elektrics, a New York-based band that was signed to Capitol Records.

Thanks Carey.
I looked at their site; impressive. I did send them an inquiry 'cos they seem to work mainly with rock/alternative clients. Not sure they'd like to work with me or best know my genre. However, they may have other leads for me or perhaps would be wanting to work on such a project.
Their studio rates were very reasonable.

Thanks. He did a CD for my old roommate's band. It turned out awesome. Too bad they broke up the band. I really liked going to their shows.

I think 1 in 50 bands doesn't break up. What was the band?

Hey Carey....
Great news! Marco responded to my inquiry and let me know that they do quite a projects with europop/electronica/pop/techno artists so this is extremely encouraging.
I got all excited when he also mentioned that his engineers were very well familiar with the genre I want to make my own.
I'll keep you all posted with what's going on next........
Pretty soon I will need a manager

as far as management goes, i will be pursuing someone/entity from the UK rather than USA.
for things here, i'll probably keep it on a grassroots basis and try to pull most of it off on my own.
there's just so much more than has to happen first......like copyrighting. that's my next step.
