I have a 2003 VR6 GTI. My AC cutts out from time to time. The fan continues to operate but the air is warm and humid. I can even notice considerable condensation on the vents. It resumes cooling the air after a few minutes.
I keep it on AUTO 72F all the time. In addition, I can smell a bit of mold when it stops cooling. I was thinking about injecting a coil cleaning compound I heard about on TV into the AC air intake.

Hey Marko,
Not to be a D!(K here, but I think you'd get a better answer if you posted in the Mk4 Forums

Postin an AC question in the audio forums ain't gonna get you far.

BTW, Get yer AC refrigerant levels checked, if you are low on Freon (R134) it will cause excess condensation and cause the AC to kick the high pressure switch causing what you are describing.
