I will be needing this for my turbo project, but all I wanted to know is if it will give me any gains from the stock 89 throttle body and intake manifold. Will the cable reach to the throttle body? Has anyone tried this?

Other than facing the wrong way (I know why you want that though) the A2 intake and TB will be at least as restrictive as the stock 87-90 Fox intake. You could realize some gains with a Neuspeed or Audi 5K TB, but the Audi one is not a bolt on. I think the coldstart will end up pretty close to the battey if not hitting it. You may also need a longer coldstart line. For doing what your thinking about, you may not need the coldstart anyway. The aux.air regulator will not have a place to mount either, but you won't be needing that for your app.
The cable comes up slightly short I think.

I'd get a 91-93 Fox TB- right direction. Butterfly difference IS major, though, if that means a hill of beans.
I have heard of changing the postion of the accelerator hook up, but never tried.

The 91-93 Fox tb has the full throttle swithc right? And does the GTI tb have like an angle at which it turns towards the camshaft, because that would be helpful since the intercooler pipes will be running toward that way?

Crap, well I guess I'll hafta go with the GTI throttle body then, it looked a lot bigger then the one that's on my Fox right now. It probably won't matter that much since I am going turbo.

Why does everyone quit doing things because they're "going turbo?"
Any mod that increases performance in NA will increase FI performance (sans a few things IE: cams).
