Got a screaming deal off ebay for 18x8 and 18x10 BBS LMs with Pzero asymmetricos for $1700

I originally lost the auction but just got a "second chance" offer at my last bid and snapped it up.
They are Porsche fitment so I'll need to get some adapters.
I was going to put them on my TT but after sing ttigg's pics yesterday and remembering how the LMs look on the .:R they just might end up there

Guys, I hope this isn't a scam. I don't think it is based on who I think the seller is, but I guess that it is a possibility.
I always Paypal with my Amex so if it turns out to be a scam I'll have some protection.
For the record, they are not gold and the only issues were some light curbage that was allegedly repaired to new (can't see anything in the pics).
We'll see how it goes and THANKS for the well wishes

Be wary of the PayPal buyer protection programme.
I ordered a Sony PSP from a web based company and paid by PayPal, when i didnt receive anything i emailed the company but the email bounced back. The company had gone bust and closed their paypal account.
I won the dispute through paypals dispute routine but they cant refund me until the company opens a new paypal account which is unlikely to happen seeing as they went bust.

Yeah the cat is out of the bag apparently... I did indeed win ($1800 + $120 shipping) a set of BBS LM's with gold centers, 18x8,5 front 18x9,5 rears.... Pirelli tires.... perfect fit just need adapters.... however the buyer has YET to respond to me and its over 24 hrs since the end of the auction. He is in California (bay area, i believe).
Our prices/deals seem similar... but at least in your case you seem to actually be getting your setup... be careful running 10's in the back... but you should be all good with the right size tire and offset.... i hope mine work out so i can sell my new/custom 18s (see my classifieds post) ... gold LMs on red cars look great...
Blargh.... hope mine isnt a scam, but i havent paid yet PayPal or otherwise since he hasnt contacted me so we shall see...

I've had 3 or 4 email messages with the seller so far and I am convinced he is legit at this point. I asked him to ultra-communicate because of the money involved and he has been, right down to packing details. Wheels will ship out on Friday from the east coast via UPS ground so I hope to see them within a couple weeks. He even offered to pay for 75% of the shipping costs because he only had one wheels worth of shipping in the offer. That was pretty dang cool.
Turns out, he is going to be at mey company on business in the beginning of October, so we will hopefully get a chance to meet in person as well.
I'm going to wait until I have the wheels in my hands before I order adapters, I need to see how they will fit, especially in back.

I see a lot of people get worked up about eBay, remember, the seller has 3 full business days to get in touch with the buyer, so try to exercise some patience!
As an aside, I do so love when an auction ends on a weekend, and the other party freaks out if I don't reply on a Saturday or Sunday! BUSINESS days, people!

You wouldn't happen to know the name of the seller would you? or would he happen to be from NC? Just curious... I need to call a buddy of mine who has a boxter (with LMs) who has been having O2sensor problems. He changes cars like undies, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was him...

So far, it's still bone stock except for debadging the P H E A T O N off the back. I am looking at a badgeless grill sometime in the future tho.

UPDATE: I have tracking numbers for 4 packages at 45lbs apeice, so SOMETHING is coming

on a side note, I DID get a SCAM second chance offering over the weekend. Totally bogus mail that was very obvious. Also very different then the 1st one I got.
