2007 Mercedes GL-Class

Sorry no other pics so far (Auto, Motor und Sport has a lot in their print edition, so I suppose they´ll be on other sites soon).
The GL was supposed to be the replacement for the G, but they will now co-exists, at least for a while.
It offers three rows of seats, for an overall length plus of 30cm over the ML.
Four engines will be initially available here in Germany:
GL350 3.5l V6 gas 272PS
GL500 5l V8 gas 306PS
GL320 CDI diesel 224PS
GL420 CDI diesel 314PS
It will go on sale here next fall, but since it´s made in the US, North America might see it a little earlier.

ML doesn't have a third row seat, this does. It's basically the same vehicle with a bigger body.

booo, as long as they still sell the regular g-class however Im happy, that vehicle rocks. I love the side pipes on the G55 too

the GL looks like a cross between the Jeep Commander and Grand Cherokee which is not saying much...
This will never be a worthy replacement for the G wagen...
First the R class Pacifica copy and now this...Mercedes is turning into an upscale Chrysler.
What is happening to Mercedes??? ARG!!!

The R-Class is the same basic platform as this vehicle. No relation to the Pacifica other than styling elements.

And, surprisingly, the R/M/GL-class platform is also used for the Grand Cherokee. Considering Jeep's historical commitment to keeping its platforms unique, it's sure been abandoned quickly.

Other way around. The GC was delayed so its platform could accomodate the M-B triplets.
