seems simple but you have to remember that it has to be able to detect that you are in any gear

screw this, I'm just going to call the shops and ask. the way i understand it is if you leave you car with it in gear and arm the alarm it knows not to remote start. I'm sure it's not 150% reliable but neither is asking your girlfriend to have sex with you while she's on her period.

I've asked this question to a guy that does this for a living(is in the VW world aswell)
YES they do have sensors that sit ontop if your tranny to sense if its in gear. Do they work? NO not well he said because your tranny won't ever go back to the same position(EXACT POSITION) it thinks its in gear and won't start. It generally uses a laser of some sort so it must be dead on. Putting a remote start on a manual is very very dangerous not to forget the amount of lawsuits it opens you up to. How do you explan to a judge you bypassed a saftey featured.

Sound Solutions... I know there is at least one left in the B'More area... Worth looking to though. But they did do an install of the Viper with remote start on a manual transmission 350z.

I went through this last year after I bought my remote start, nobody would install it on a manual transmission car, and I tried EVERYBODY

Thanks, because I'm already riding the bus everyday (no car)... I know this place because I see it when I'm gazing out the window

I would go into the store and talk to them instead of calling. Their all about relationship with customers, so face to face conversation will help you out.
PS: Did your bus hit that lady?

He's getting everything set so in his dreams he can have an alarm installed on his Corrado and everything will be cool.

Yes, it did. It took 45min to travel 100 yrds. I got out and went into the bar to watch some of the game. 60yr old lady tried to catch the bus and slipped underneath it.
