Check this CNN-Auto article out on the new wave of small cars that are on the way to the U.S.. Click on the Photo Gallery - The Nissan Versa looks interesting.

I was on a flight with a couple returning from France and Switzerland who were rearing to buy the SmartCar after they saw it overseas. The polo would probably do well over here.

yeah did a little research on that versa and that thing is ugly. the one pictured above is a widebodied concept and hardly resembles the factory verson.

POLO is a very nice little car. It is the best in the class in Europe.
I have driven the current generation before and after the facelift and the previous generation as well.
Some years ago I had a '95 Taurus V6 (130 HP), I rented a POLO 1.4 60 - 70 HP and a was a blast to drive compared with the POS of the Taurus. The interiours were also light-years ahead.

Agreed. Unfortunately, VWoA doesn't think so........or so I'm told.
