Re: GIAC BT software (bt_gti_kid)

They don't have it for sale, what they DO have is E05 software but I don't know how well it'll work with bigger turbos. I've looking into it.

Who says it's not for sale? I could have bought it months ago.

How come no-one has it? The GIAC dealer here in PR said they havn't released it yet. He said he has the test software in his car but that GIAC wasn't selling it. Or maybe at least not for my 2005 model. I'll have to talk to him again but he DID say that the E05 software was available for 2005MY.

Funny enough I struggled with this exact same problem before I moved over to revobt... I was running the e05 program w/ the TT225 Injectors and MAF. I will say this, there are definatly positive and negative aspects to running the e05 program as opposed to others like revo and upsolute. First off, no cold start issues what so ever... Car stated up every single time on the first turnover. Second, no idle fluxuations what so ever. Since the TT225 injectors are a stock spray pattern, its not like the greentop 440s.
Now, the reason why I switched over from that file does NOT have to do with the car not running correctly. It has to do with the fact that I wanted to run more boost than the application could allow and I did not want to take the route of a diode. I also switched because the e05 program works well for slightly larger turbos (super60, GT28R) however if you move beyond that you're going to have some problems and I'm planning on a T3/T4 upgrade sometime in mid 2006.
What I can also tell you is that the Air/Fuel ratios for the e05 program are work pretty well for a moderatly sized turbo. I will admit that once in a while I might have a higher A/F into the higher rpms, but that normally did not occur. Overall I was quite impressed with the e05 file, I just needed something bigger and as to date before I switched GIAC was NOT going to release any BT software, at least not any that I could get my hands on. Maybe if that changes in the future I'll check it out

You're an idiot. Your GIAC distributor doesn't make the rules, GIAC does. And if you want the software, you have to have the hardware. Just like with APR. So suck it up or shutup.

When we ventured into the BT world, we set our cars up a certain way, we shipped our car to GIAC to have software created for our kits. We have good software that works great, the way we have them setup. If a customer came to our shop wanting to build a big turbo car a certain way here at our facility, we could set them up with the software we had created, so the whole system works together. All software is not going to work with all turbos.
Did you buy the X+ asking if you upgrade later for a big turbo setup? If you did, you would have been told that GIAC does not just sell big turbo software, I do not have information that they will ever release just a big turbo file as there are too many variables, but things can change, I cant speak for GIAC themselves. We have software that we could use when building local cars, but we will not just sell the software for a setup that is not intended to work with it. We will soon be selling hardware made by another GIAC dealer. You have several posts about issues with how your car is running, wastegate falling off, turbo making noise, etc. not to mention your setup is not something that the software we use was intended to work with. If I were to just sell the software to you, I would need to support you with questions and concerns after your purchase. I could not do this and know that if an issue was arrising that it was purely software and in the end, the software was not created for your setup.
We created a kit that we chose not to bring to the market, we were left with software that works very well with the setups we put together but this is not something thats just released and we will now be using products that were mentioned above.
I'm sorry that you are upset but I would not sell you an exhaust, cams or head that wasnt created with the intentions to work with your particular setup.
GIAC is working with a company right now that is bringing very viable turbo kit options to the market. This may be something for many people who are interested in staying with the GIAC brand.

Unitronics or REVO (as long as you aren't on 440 green tops.)

Don't come on here and bash Rich and Katie when they are two of the nicest most professional people around, not to mention, more than willing to help people like you even after you called them out like this. Now you're aware. And it's RETARDED, and you didn't call them that, you called them gay. Classy.
