Re: Re: (anothercar)

Ford Probes have an arrow, as well as the words "Fuel Door" next to the arrow, just in case there was any question about what it is pointing to

Then again, this indicator is not located directly next to the fuel gauge, but rather at the bottom of the cluster.

if you can't learn which side it's on after 2 days with the car, you aren't smart enough to have a DL.

Right, because everyone fills up several times every two days, and knowing where the gas filler is is so much more important than any other aspect of driving.

I drive cars of different makes regularly and can remember what side the gas door is on...it's really not that difficult.

Wow. Good for you, here's a cookie.
I switch between several brands of vehicle as well as different types. Old habits die hard, and my Focus has a fill on the pass. side, and the GMC I got rid of had it on the drivers side.
The arrow helps out on those days where I space off and automatically drive up on my side.

I always assumed that cavaliers and the other cars that enterprise salivates over have them on them so people that arent familiar with the car wont have to get out and have to get back in and move it with their tail between their legs.

My Contour had this and my girlfriend's exploder has it. It's nice since I don't drive her car all that often.

Re: Re: (enriquejcu)

My Dakota has it. But my P-car and Audi don't.
Must say, the day I realized it I thought it was cool as hell!! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif to the guy who came up with it!

I think it's a great idea, and I've never noticed just the arrow before. I do know some of my parents older cars did say 'fuel door' with an arrow though.
Every now and then when driving a relatives vechile on the rare chance I need to fill it up I need to get out and look which side the filler is on. Very annoying.

Subies have it. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
It's useful because my Miata is on the opposite side, both imports so there's no rule of thumb to tell which side it's on.
My wife rarely drives my car, but she does, and if she ever has to get gas I know she'll get it right the first time. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
The know-it-alls in this thread probably aren't married because noone could possibly love them enough.

Apparently, I'm not smart enough to have a driver's license, but I've managed to get through life thus far. When you own as many cars in your lifetime as I have in the ten years I've been driving, we'll talk.
I've had cars with gas lids on all 4 corners and sometime under the rear bumper.
But, I keep forgetting that people with European cars are above average intelligence.
