Re: ISV removal (thetwodubheads)

You can just tie the wires up out of the way, the ISV doesn`t have to be connected.
Personally I`ve spent a while getting my setup working with the ISV, cold starting and idlein in winter are a right pain without some form if cold/hot idle control.

Re: ISV removal (tkic)

yeah or you could adjust the idle screw for more air, or drill a very tiny hole in the TB plate (old school way) etc etc.
you think big cammed/head v-8's idle well in cold? lol. we're lucky with these low compression 4 bangers they are much easier to deal with.

Re: ISV removal (mrkrad)

i thought someone said that the car wouldnt run without the isv? i was planning on deleting my boost return pipe this weekend and had found the pipe to hook it back up. if all it is for cold idle, hell i used to drive a carb mopar nothing worse than that.

Re: ISV removal (tzdevill77)

basically that is all it is, a device to let more air into the motor to stabilize the rev's. if you can handle a carb'd car - no biggie - ditch it. just keep the plug/wires safe they are pretty much a direct line to the ecu. if they ever short out, you will cook your ecu. not even fused. lol.
