I thought that I would share some good news with everyone here on the Tex.
I've just accepted an invitation to work in the pit team of the MkV Golf GTI at the Nurburgring 24 hour next year. It was run in May this year, but the dates for next year's race are not yet set.
I will only being doing time keeping and odd jobs such as cleaning wheels and windscreens etc. but it's going to be great to be part of it.
With any luck Timmeh and Wayne will be coming along. We're going to get a motorhome from Avis near Bonn or Cologne and park it at the Ring for a week or so. My sister Alexis has said that she is interested in coming along too.
If we are lucky, we might even be able to fit in a European GP.
Something to look forward to.

I believe that this year, the team ran a diesel.

Think I might ask the owner of this car a few questions.

Hey how you manage this? So while Timmeh and I walk around drunk and getting into fights with locals you will be in the pit? But seriously, how cool is that? How did you score this? I am still keen on this, so we will have to talk about it seriously when we get together. When will you know the exact date?

Actually, it was through a contact here on the Tex. I could tell you more, but I'd have to kill you.

Anyway, I should be able to get you and Tim free tickets, so don't complain.

I won't know exact dates until the F1 calender comes out. Something to do with Bernie having first dibs on the track. Fecker!

Should be good to see the race from that level...the only thing better than "being there"is "being a part of it".
Please note the poor little koala hanging on to the antena (of the V) for dear life........ if you look at the rest of the photos from the race you may see a few more.

OK I am the one that but MDT on to the person that extended the offer to MDT.
This started with feedback on his driving from his video clip I did not know it would extend to this....hope he doesnt ask you to bring anything over in a bogey board bag.
Depending on things I maybe there as well.
If you look close at the pictures the person that ectended the invite gives out koalas to the cars.
I am glad that MDT has taken up the offer made by the nameless one.

Re: Going to the Nurburgring 24 hour race in 2006 (minigolf)

Hmm, looks like the 24hr race is in June, but the European GP is on 7 May 2006. Hmm, I wonder how long it takes for the track to re-open to the public, if indeed the Nordschleife does close (I imagine it would).
