i had a 99.5 VR6 myself before i bought my 01 Jetta Wolfsburg 1.8T... I bought it because of the money i saved not buying a new vr6 not to mention how much power you can get out of the 1.8T for so little money. I loved my vr6, it was an awesome engine stock.... if i could afford to buy another one and throw a couple of turbos on it i would have... but now as my car is chipped it is much faster than my vr6 ever was...and for a lot less money and better gas mileage to boot.
in the end it's all about what you can get for the money you have...

I like the part about it being "serviceable at any VW dealer" like I'm gonna let the crackheads at most dealerships work on my HPA bi-turbo VR

yeah, i think the only thing worse would be taking it to something like JiffyLube for an oil change...

that isn't the vr6 vr6, its the the 24v "vr6".. eurospec. already 201hp to start out with. And 12 more valves for breathing for that turbo http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

The Golfzilla is the 12v VR6...rated at 442whp. It uses OEM Porsche, Audi, and VW parts. It even uses the stock computer managment. Anywayz, the car does the 0-60 in 4.4 seconds, 1/4 11.8 in the WET and speeds over 170mph. The Garrett- T28 turbos spool at 300rpms

Thats what you call instant power. HPA for the VR is the 1.8T's APR. Very clean and powerful.

Actually I'd make that Dalhback (his 1.8t coversions are sick (no Im not talking about their mk4 gti)) rather than APR as APR has never maxed out an engine with a kit...

Wow....it would be even better in a GTi body, which has a better Cd and is lighter. Plus a six speed. I didn't notice, but did it have a 6-speed?

im pretty sure that the 500hp is the 12v. The do have the 24v but that makes 600hp
