I have a '91 gti that was originally an 8v. It has a VR swap now but it has A2 axles with a G60 brake setup. My question is what 5x100 hubs will fit with the A2 axles? My car has been at the shop for over a week and they cannot seem to figure it out. Someone out there clue me in.

5 lug axles and hubs have different splines than their 4 lug counterparts. You would need to switch out to VR Mk3/Corrado axles/tie rods/A-arms to go to 5 lug.

so there are no VW or Audi hubs that will fit the A2 axles?

No I am not sure.

well you can tell if you have the axle out and looking at the splined end there will be alot of very fine splines and the regular axles have a more coarse spline pattern.. if you are 4 lug now and want to 5 techtonics sells a 5 lug hub that you can press in and it is still the 4 lug spline pattern. im not quite sure waht it is thaty you are asking though.. thats why i tried to ask either question it maybe

Re: (DUBmanDAN)

i heard some people press the 5 lug hub into the mk2 spindle. but you would also have to change the outter cv on the axle from an mk2 to an mk3 vr6.
did the shop replace the axle where the hub went bad?? its possible that they just used a standard mk2 one and are trying to mate that to a vr6 hub. or maybe they are looking for a hub with the mk2 specs instead of mk3 specs.
what kind of shop did you bring it to? if it's not a dub specialist, they might not know about the hybrid axles or swap. which means they are looking to parts specific to an mk2.

Since you have 4 lug g60 brakes then they have to be for a 4 lug set up. Either g60 or mk2 100mm. Do you still have the 5 lug hubs you mentioned?

actually if you used the g60 spindle and caliper and swapped the hub and rotor to the 11inch vr6, and swapped the axle ends, then he could still run the 5 lug!
correct me if i'm wrong. in theory it should work.

The car was built by Dubwerks in the Chicago area and I took the car to Metrick Methodz out here in CO. Both are VW specialists.

I am running a 5 lug on the car, not a 4 lug and I am at a loss at this point.

no stock five lug hubs will fit mk2 axles the only ones that will are the ecs tuning five lug conversion hubs, Then with those you would need corrado vr6 rotors and you would be good

if your running a stock vr6 hub, then the axles are hybrid (inner mk2,outter mk3 vr6 splines), to fit the vr6 hubs.
if its the aftermarket hub that slc4me is talking about, then yes you would still be running stock mk2 axles.
did you have to replace the axle? if not try mocking up a vr6 hub and see if it fits. if not its gotta be aftermarket hub.
i'm sure they have either a spare vr6 hub or vr6 axle lying around. if you still have the original hub, try to mock fit a vr6 axle to it; to see if the spline slides in. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
why not try contacting the original owner or dubwerks to see what they might have used to make it work.
