I'm lovin that colour...good job getting the manual as well, the DSG in mine fried at 900 kms and the car's gone to the shop for god knows how long. Besides the weak link DSG, the car is a total peach!
Enjoy!!

Do the Mk V R32 have rain sensing wipers and an auto dimming rear view mirror?

The MK V R32 has rain sensing wipers and auto dimming rear view mirror. There's also a special mirror package you can buy, to also have auto dimming side mirrors.

Indeed, can't wait to get on the "Autobahn" with it! What is your average gas usage at the moment? Would be interesting to know.

Not sure really. driving normally its not any worst than the MK4 1.8T but when you thrash it

I don't mean to redirect your attention away from the well deserved accolades, but I have two questions for you. Do the Mk V R32 have rain sensing wipers and an auto dimming rear view mirror? Love them on my Mk IV and I know VoA does not offer them on the Mk V GTI. Here's hoping their on your R32. Thanks, and much happiness with your R32.

Indeed it does. mine has just the rear veiw mirror auto dimming but if you opt for folding mirrors they are also dimming although there is a rumour that on new ones now only the drivers side dim's

Just so the North Americans understand, those seats are the leather Recaros. And, they won't be offered in North America because they don't have side airbags.

This is true. The standard leather is very nice though. These recaros are not easy entry either. To get people in the back you have to tip them and then slide them forwards manuals. Good excuse not to let people in it

SWEET car can't wait till they get over here.
Not to make you feel bad, but is your front passenger side seat cracking (the leather) already? or did someone really big just totally mash it?

No, the seat is fine. i will be keeping a close eye on them though and any sign of premature wear and they will be replacing them

Re: (abydielsgli)

The new R is a sick car! Congrats!
As good as those seats look, I personally wouldn't have ticked that option. I've tried sitting in both the stock seats (the same as Euro GTI seats but without plaid) and these. I bet the stock seats give just enough side support. The optional seats are a pain (literally) to get out of. There's hard plastic inside the side support for legs and at least I basically sat on it with my thigh while getting out. Also, the leather on that spot was already pretty worn (the car was on display in Autostadt), so I definitely wasn't the only one with the problem.
I don't know why, but I could never imagine getting a GTI in 5-door form, but I think the R looks better with rear doors.

And that lighter blue is a gorgeous color, although everyone will choose it. Great car. So much more for about the same money as A3 3.2 quattro. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
