Re: golf facelift (Fantomasz)

Well it's not like it's much of a face lift. It's pretty much putting a Jetta/GTI front bumper on the car. It would sure beating the hell out of getting badgeless grills for Golf V's when your asking for a Jetta/GTI grill.

The more and more news I read about the Golf facelift, etc.....the more and more I want to go back to my MK4!

You can always buy an R32 bumper from Europe or a GTI one.. TMTUNING has the R32 MKV bumper for about 400 and change.

Re: golf facelift (Fantomasz)

I must be one of the few hoping it's true rather than rumor. I don't care for the plastic honeycomb grill. Since I first laid eyes on the MarkV, I've thought it made the car look a bit less refined.
YMMV

The regular Golf doesn't have a honeycomb grill. It has different bumper and grill altogether than the Jetta and GTI/GLI.

Do you guys honestly think nobody is gonna swap bumpers? Whoopee, they put a Jetta bumper on a Golf, as long as they don't call it a Jolf who gives a ****?!

I think the folks that give a pooh are those that plan to get the Golf, and don't want it coming with the Jetta front end, where they'd have to buy the 'old' Golf parts to give it the look it has at this present time. If I were looking at a Golf in a year or so, I'd be worried as well.

Exactly my point. I was planning on going with a Golf after my current Jetta.
The only reason was because of the front end not having CHROME.
No chrome = GOOD
Chrome = BAD

I would think it's highly unlikely for VW to put a 2 year old Jetta front end on a future Golf and call it a facelift.

It doesn't matter what VW is calling it. They could be calling it the MK6 for all I care.
The fact of the matter is they are making "design" changes by putting on a Jetta front bumper.
This is a joke.

Is this an official thread? You're assuming this because somebody posted a pic! Sheesh!
