These things are powerful. It takes alot of strength to seperate these things. They shipped in a tube of foam, with red caps, I thought i was opening something nuclear. Don't let these get anywhere near your computer. I'm gonna install them on my bumper tomorrow. I'm thinking of using an epoxy on the bumper to glue them on the inside. Has anyone had and paint problems with the magnets directly on the bumper?

If they're that strong try to get the soft side of Velcro and stick that on the Magnet, so it has some cushion against the bumper. Or you can use anything else really soft. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Acyually, velcro alone sounds like a great idea for mounting your plate, a whole lot cheaper too.

only problem is it's not invisible, since one velcro adhesive side would have to stick to the bumper face. magnets can be mounted behind the bumper so after you pop the plate off, you'd never have guessed it was ever there.

I meant- to use the soft side of the velcro as a cushion, so the magnet itself isn't against the bumper. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I purchased the 1" x 1" x .175" inch circle ones. They sell all kinds. Squares, rings, cirlces, etc.
I can't get over how strong these things are. If you put one on your hand and one on the other side they stick not just stick but puts alot of pressure on your hand. Works on your arm to, Weird.

serious overkill. one, maybe two of those would be all you need and the pull force would be massive. also, they might make your plate stick out quite a bit from the bumper. i'd suggest the 0.25" and thinner magnets, one per corner (four total) on the inside of the bumper and four on the plate corners.
edit: yes, one per corner, four total
