Re: Full 02A 4 cylinder trans swap... hydrolics and all (smokinjoe644)

I'm picking up a 91 G60 Corrado this week for my son. We were think of making it a 5-spd while we have the engine out. Any interest in an auto w/ 3000 miles on a rebuild?

Re: Full 02A 4 cylinder trans swap... hydrolics and all (kyoung88)

I am sorry, I really have no use for an auto.... but there are alot of people out there that do need them... try the passat classified as the 16Vs use the same trans, you should be able to move it pretty fast.... if not ebay
Just a precaution, those autos weigh in at about 180 lbs (crated) with no starter or torque convert so they have to be shipped freight which can be a pain

Thanks for the info. BTW what tranny(s) will work with the G60 motor. We're kind of new at this. On the other hand, he's only 17. Maybe I should leave the auto in it

They type that comes on the G60 is an 02A they can be found in the Corrado G60s and in Passat 16Vs. The VR6s use an 02A but the bell housing is different and will not bolt up.
Other then that you can use an 020 which is what is found in MK3 2.0L cars and all MK2 cars. These use a clutch cable where as the 02A uses a hydrolic clutch. They will bolt up and fit, but will require swapping some additional parts to get it to work. (But if it is auto you will be swapping parts anyway) These transmissions are also not quite as strong and usually less expensive.

Swap is still for sale, I can ship it but it would have to be 2 boxes (1 for trans, 1 for everything else).
If you are serious about it let me know where exactly it is going and I will try to get you a price, but it will probably be around $100 to send all of it.

Bill -- you can email me at smokinjoe644@hotmail.com if you have any other questions or want to know what all is involved in either or the swaps http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: Full 02A 4 cylinder trans swap... hydrolics and all (Eganx)

I will check the codes today... I will also try to get an accurate weight, but the estimates I did come in at $100-150 to ship all of it. The trans would come alone in one crate and the rest in a second box.
Do you have a business address to ship to?
