an APR chip is a must. that's $500. Now, with the remaining 300, should I:
1. save an extra 50 and go with the Adrenalin BOV
or
2. go with a forge/bailey DV (which is better?) and then have some $ left for say a TIP (neuspeed or abt?)
3. something else (fill in the space!)
I was favoring 2. myself. Just one question-is a TIP a tough install? i've done the evoms CAI, the adrenalin BOV (on a friend's car) and short shifter in the past as well as removing my entire front bumper so I am fairly competent mechanically. Is a TIP out of my league?
Your suggestions/help is greatly appreciated

Buy an Upsolute for $325 and throw the rest into a 2.5" exhaust.

If APR is a must-have, then see if you can swing a 2.5" or 3" downpipe and high-flow cat. I really don't know how much they go for though. Otherwise go for the TIP or new DV. Don't bother with a BOV. If you really need the sound, get a new DV and then buy a CAI later. It'll sound just as good.

The DV on the 02 is fine. I have been chipped for over 10k and NO problems with my DV whatsoever. Save the Bailey for later. Get an exhaust. Or better yet get a suspension to handle all that new found power

Go for the APR and a Neuspeed TIP, man. Jasonhouse1.8t recently did a GB on the TIP, and if memory serves me right, there was this guy who called this week (the GB is over like 2 weeks ago) and Anthony from GreedSpeed was still willing to let him buy the TIP at the GB price (US$151 shipped, compared to US$199 regular) if you tell him you're from VW Vortex. I mean, you have nothing to loose to give him a buzz.
Here is a link to a TIP installation guide:

Check it out and see if this is something you think you can handle.

That would be my recommendation as well if APR is your choice.
Unless you're getting a deal, your APR will end up being more than $500 when you include install and any extra programs for EMCS.

yea you have to think about food right. Hey your going to need a nice refreshing 3 liter of Mountain Dew also. So thats like 2 more dollars, maybe we can go with a medium pizza so that we can afford the drink.

The Upsolute 3" Downpipe is 325 with the high flow cat?
That's pretty cheap!
Any fitment, rubbing, quality issues?
Thanks!

What kind of suspension setup do you have?? maybe $300 would be well spent on some springs....or maybe you could get the TIP at group buy price..then by some springs off ebay or from a fellow vortexer for $150...maybe http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

GIAC, Bailey and TIP

How do you figure all that for $800? The GIAC alone after tax, and with a OEM module (which everyone should do) is @640, then your TIP is at least 160 if youre lucky enough to get in the GB. There's $800 right there. Id say you could get GIAC and one or the other...I like Bailey BTW.
