There is anecdotal evidence of many hig-mile engines leaking oil when put on a diet of Mobil 1. This may be due to enhanced detergent action which removes old gunk and crud that was plugging leaks. I bit of leaking won't kill you and oil is cheap so try it. Trust me, a $5 quart of oil every month is NOTHING in the big picture of Corrado ownership.

I use mobil one with no problems. It is not reccomended to use if your breaking in a component like a cam or new motor because the additives will not promote wear (for seating mating surfaces) like a non detergent, non synthetic oil. Like VR6guy said sometimes leaking occours becuse of the detergent action of the oil.

I agree.
I had a 91 MR2 Turbo (just sold it). When I first got it, it didn't burn a drop of oil. However, after switching to Mobil 1 synth, the turbo seals started leaking and I started experiencing some minor blow by issues.

I was told by BBM to only use conventional oil for the S/C break in period. I have been using Mobil 1 for the last 50K w/o problems and plan to go back, after break in period.

Well, whatever ya wanna call it, using a synthetic oil during the first bit of driving you do with a new cam is a bad idea. The only instances of premature cam failure from g60 owners were all from people that either used synthetic oil during their "break in" period, or people who didn't replace the lifters when they put the new cam in.
There was a big discussion about this several months ago in the g60 forum.

Back when I had my car was still a G60, I switched it to Synthetic at 139,000 miles and it leaked like a siv. So I drained it out and slapped in some of the high mileage dino oil (20w 50) and it stopped leaking...
