the only American unit of measure I like is for fuel consumption (mpg) vs. L/100km - wtf is that???

Simple explanation: The Americans are bathing in fuel, we have to pay for it: We have to calculate how much we need to pay for a trip, they just drive and afterwards notice "Hmmmm, 40 Gallons"

I have the same issue as you Action, no rpm dip, but the fan will come on at (#2 setting inside), the light doens'teven come on...I think it did work when I bought her and the light did come on, but I think I'm outta 134....The guy who had 'er was a VW freak, he did the 134 coversion, replaced the Tranny with a brand new german one and left his Boston Accoustic 6's and tweets with crossovers!
I'll be fillin mine soon, my father has an "Audi" mech who's got a tank of 134 in his garage, he filled the Audi and it's now blowin' colder than a nun's panties at Easter!
Plus he's just around the corner!

Anyway, I did the blue wire check like the bentley says, and sure enough the damm thing came on. I even watched bubles float by in the spy window. That means not enough refrigerant So I guess I need to recharge the R-12 refrigerant. Idon't know for sure if the previous owner had the system converted, but I doubt it. BTW how can one tell?
AND, anyone know anyone in SW Ontario that will recharge R-12?? Also how much do I need? I've seen 12 ounce canisters on eBay, is that enough?

***EDIT*** I just checked the Ontario Ministry of Enviroment website and it states that use of R-12 in Ontario has not been phased out at this time, but might be in the future. But since 1996 no auto's were biult with R-12. So its hard to find, not illegal to use.

What's a Twoonie?
My wife and I actually have a single Loonie in each of our cars. We were in main, and really liked the sound Loons make in the morning.
You know, at least none of we dumb Americans posted something like (although I DID think it at first ... and I'm a scientist. DUH!), "what does you A/C have at all with it being your birthday," quickly reading "It's" as "I'm."

Does it make any more sense now, assuming the effect of the beer has diminished?

That is, change "it's" to "I'm"in the title of the post and read it. Canadian and beer ... a bad combination.
