new? man, we haven't bought a new car since 1985, which was a Jetta straight from the Westmoreland plant. Everything after that has been slightly used (86 vanagon in 1990, 93 Eurovan in 1995, '91 Jetta in 1997), until a new 2003 jetta (which, obviously, had airbags).

1993 Passat VR6.
On a side note, the last new car in our family without ABS was a 1985 Chevy Astro.

I think that would have to be a 1987 Dodge Daytona 2.2L Non-Turbo... but I really can't recall, there may have been one after that.

Last new car the family bought w/o airbags was the '87 Isuzu Trooper. What a horrid machine- but it did last for quite a while. The next new car after that was the '04 Volvo S40.

last brand new cars my parent had was.....85ish porsche 911.... they also bought a i think an 85 cadilac fleetwood broughm that year too....how hot a collection in 1985 terms eh?
