Re: Anyone here own an Audi 4000? (recaro)

I do own a 4000 based car, unfortunately it doesn't have a sunroof.
I will ask around in the audi community and see what I can dig up.
You could always check any medium sized scrap yard, there are always a tonne of those cars returning to the earth from which they came...

what are you having a problem with...put hte two screws in it....hook up power and ground (with fuse if you like) and away you go...if you don't have a rocco sunroof in your car you won't get the tilt...but the power function works fine http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif i have a couple spare panels around here somewhere if you just need to look at one of those

The problem Im having is not with the motor working, but with the way I reassembled the whole mechanism. It does have the tilt function, same setup basically as the scirroco. I had to get the panel painted and the mechanism sat for a while torn apart, so when I had to put the panel back on, I dont think I did it right.

Yes I will, the audi ones are the same *****, they tilit and slide, but with power instead of a crank (which I could still use, but power is pimp).

Re: Anyone here own an Audi 4000? (Passsssat)

i didn't know the audi ones fit...i understood the panels were different...i have the power motor in my car, with a stock jetta panel...and in my old trophy i had a rocco sunroof with a audi power motor again... http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: Anyone here own an Audi 4000? (big_b)

I have everything from the 4000, the panel, the motor, and the track. So it had to come apart to paint the panel black to match my car. The only difference I could find between the stock panel and the audi panel, was 4 tabs welded in slots under the panel for the tilt mechanism to bolt up. The tabless panel still has the 4 slots where they could be welded in if I wanted to make more work for myself.

Anybody else in the mississauga area have an Audi 4000? I can only do this in the evening and I dont think I'll be able to make it out to Arno's.
