Hi,
Havin problems with my golf, was on the motorway the other day doing about 60/70 anytime i accelerated the engine would die down a lot,
I stopped and let it rest for a minute or two and then it wouldnt take off properly at all, only that it was on a hill I did get her to move.
In the end I had to get it towed home and now she takes a while to start up and when it does it wont idle properly (sometimes) and if i floor it the engine dies. if i try to move it it will die straight away. My mechanic says it sounds like the inlet gasket or the air flow meter. If anyone has any ideas or has had anything similar happen any feedback would be great.
Thanks

Re: G60 Acting up (knappy)

what do you mean by tune up? last sort of thing i can think of was when it was dynoed about 10,000 miles ago.
How would I go about checking a vac leak.
Thanks

Check throttle switches, Blue CTS, O2 sensor, vacuum hose from the t/b to the ecu (make sure no leaks, kinks or flat out borken), I had a similar problem ended up being a bad O2 sensor and a bad CTS.
