lamps look great http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
remind me which projectors you used again?

I used Valeo audi A6 projectors. they were great untill i put them behind that thick glass lens.
no lens (left projector only) Notice the nice flat cut-off
Image

with lenses on (both projectors) Cut off slopes off on both sides
Image

These lights still work much better than my old halogen reflectors.

bummer about the lens. it still looks good though. and from what i can tell in the pics, you did a nice job of aiming too http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
how is your registration with high beam?

I used silvania silver star H1's for highbeams. they are pretty damn bright.
As for aiming them with the HID's they are okay. The height is just fine, but they are more aimed towards the middle. So when i flick them on they light up dead ahead, but not so much on the sides of me.

I have a picture of that at home I think. I'll post it later.

Re: Retro Complete (DubbHatch)

hey nice "hella" A6 projectors.
Image

dont feel bad about the beam shooting mostly straight, if anything you would rather have them aiming brighter in the middle than outward towards the sides. the A6 projectors were designed for light in front of your car not necessarily to the sides so much. the only way to have the beam wider really is to puch the projectors super close to the headlight lense and then it just would look out of place. When I did mine I wanted them to be right up against the headlight lense covers but when I set them in place they looked really awkard. So instead I recessed them back a little so they look flush with the rest of the headlight.
also I believe that your passenger side may be a little off and maybe needs to be set like a few degrees counterclockwise, but really isnt a big issue. Non the less they look great and are definatly better than stock! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Well, the guy who sold them to me said they were Valeo. (or at least I thought that is what he told me) I'm trying to find the conversation I saved.
here is a picture.
Image

My projectors are rotated correctly. I forgot to take a before and after picture with the headlight lenses on and off. the cut off on both projectors were prefectly straight. Then after I put the coke bottle-thick glass lenses on, the beams slope on both sides.
Image

The projectors are also really close to touching the headlights lenses. I really didn't have a choice because there was no room behind the headlight to have the projector sticking out too far.
Here is a picture behind the driver side headlight
Image

that picture is hard to see so i highlighted how much room i had left. At then end of sealing that plug up, it was touching that intake peice.

Re: Retro Complete (DubbHatch)

yup I am 100% positive they are hella A6 projectors. Dont feel bad though the A6 projectors are great projectors. I believe them to be a little wider than the valeos anyway.
about the slanted beams, sorry didnt realize that that thickness of the glass was the main culprit to the slanted cutoffs. none the less the cutoff looks great anyway. way better than if you were to go with a drop in.
Image

also the back looks good. You got a great set of lights there. a

for you sir!
