I've watched 2 variations of the new Dodge-Chrysler commercials and that Dr.Z reminds me a typical German snob.
Can't believe they would show this German snobbish personality in Dodge-Chrysler commercials.

Funny thing is am I wrong or is the COMMANDER less off road worthy than say a last gen Grand Cherokee

Yeah...Jeep is moving in a ...different... direction.
They're not hyping up the "Every Jeep is Trail Ready" thing anymore. The Compass/Patriot (?) aren't Trail Ready, and I don't believe the Commander is either.
For those that don't know the roots behind the "Trail Ready" thing, Jeeps with that badge were supposed to be worthy of driving on the Rubicon Trail, the 4x4 killing beast.

Not at all...in fact I think that they are quite entertaining and witty. I still get a giggle out of the one with the reporter and the test drive in the Charger...too funny. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif to Dr. Z. and the marketing department.

I like how in the "fairy" Dodge caliber commercial it pulls away to the sweet sound of an unavailable small-block V8.....

Bwahahaha, thank you. I kept looking for the Z06 in that ad, but never saw it.

What kind of snob would you prefer?

Anyways, they're trying to make him the face of their brand. Basically to remind ALL DA' HATERZ that it's a "German" company not an "American" company. I guess we're supposed to think that Dodge Caliber rolls off the same assembly line as AMG or something.

In any case, on more reason to never EVER watch television.

I think they're funny too. They'er obviously a modern variation on the Iacocca K-Car commercials, but with a (falsely) staid German guy with a handlebar mustache and a sense of humor (who is actually the chairman of DaimlerChrysler, not some made up marketing gimmick). http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif to Chrysler, I think it's a good campaign.

Here are my thoughts on the whole thing[/shameless plug]
I liked the original version I saw on the web, but the edited version they put on TV and the next ones that followed, rubbish... http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif

Re: (DenCo)

I find the commericals totally worthless. I love the fact they basically come out and say ''yeah, the germans built this because we couldnt built a good one''.
Thats sure winning over the ''good ole' boy'' crowd.

I totally agree with Denco and such, Mercedes has poltiical issues since they know dodge/chrysler is easily capable of kicking their butt will/money provided (note ME412 project? The 300c had already been in concepts for yeeeaaars) meh whatever.
Dieter is funny, but meh.

less snob, more superiority. Just self-insulting to Chrysler really. I'm not so sure how "snobby" he really is, and how much is just the character DC is having him play.

Two words; condescending and insipid.
