Re: **Reserved for EIP Stg 2 Updates and Reviews** 56K hahahaha (Mike Solo)

The picture only shows a ring gear and 2 output shafts (1 for 1st-4th and 1 for 5th, 6th, reverse), not a "whole new set of gears". Looks like a change of ratio's based on the ring gear and output shafts only.
So Rich, what would the Diesel set you mention cost and do for us??
Sounds like a good excuse to change this and the clutch/flywheel at the same time

I think all of the gears are lengthened if I remember correctly, you hit 71mph in second and 140+ in 4th

The easiest (and cheapest) way to change all the gears' ratios is by changing the final drive.

The easiest (and cheapest) way to get a different final drive gear set is to use something that already exists.

Exactly, which is why it seems really over-priced to me.

Good thinking, if you have to do a tear-down anyway, might as well do it all at once.

My thoughts exactly guys...
I'm looking for a cost effective approach to gearing as well. That frees up more money for a clutch and a Peloquin LSD...

I'm sure the HPA gear set is the bees knees... heck look at my sig, I'm practically a sanctioned fan boi

, but I agree that there may be cheaper offerings out there.
I'm eager to see the posts on this in the near future.

Changing the final drive requires changing the input shaft. Which, is by no means, "cheap".

Tell me about it. I pretty much don't care unless he is doing it on purpose when I'm trying to drink something.

Where did I say cheap? I simply said cheapest. Ring and pinion(s) are cheaper than a full lengthened gear set.

Does seem a quite high if that's what their doing?
You could probably source a whole used Diesel tranny for $2K

Rabbit... good thinking on the LSD too! Hey, a grand for the clutch package, 2k for the gears, the wife'd probably never notice another grand for the LSD... Can slip that one by her, especially if I get her that EOS first

Test your luck, you know which area I frequent (YONKERS). I will even take a trip to your house and run your driveway. That way I don't need a roll cage, helmet, and fire jacket. I can just kill myself as I would normally dress
