Re: G60 supercharger (avw4me)

it would be more effective and cost less in the long run to go turbo. After months of consideration this is what ive decided. Not to mention that the G60 will not just "bolt on". Your going to need the G60 fuel injection (Digi 1). As much as I wish it wasnt true the G60 is a bit of a grenade too. Just my $.02

Re: G60 supercharger (92VdubSLC)

this is actually the direction I am gonna take for my 87 cabby when i get my finances in order, it seems that with little modification you can get the charger, fuel system, and ecu to work on the 1.8 without any serious roadblocks
good luck

well. if you mean you will use it on a CIS head, I don't think it will work because the Digifant injection uses digital injectors with a fuel rail, unlike the Bosch CIS most Mk1 cars have. Not to mention G60 blocks (aside from 8:1 compression) have lots of little things to make them better at forced induction. Oil squirters for piston cooling, stronger con-rods, i think the displacement is different too, but don't quote me

at any rate, by the time you made it work you'd be ahead to just buy a complete G60 motor. the charger is the most expensive part anyway, so either do a complete G60, or don't bother with just a G60 charger...
turbo crossflow motors seem popular, and you'll probably get more power too.....
just my two cents......
