Re: (XxxGreenGolfxxX)

i bet they are mk2...reasons
1. the parts guys at dealers think they know everything since they have that computer with diagrams...diagrams people, diagrams!!!
2. the parts guys at dealers always act like they know what u want since they have...diagrams
3. the parts guys probably drive a corolla, and dont even know what a freakin rabbit is!!
BOOYA

actually they are mk1....reasons
1. I am a parts guy with diagrams.
2. I do know everything because I have diagrams.
3. This parts guy has a rabbit and knows what a freaking rabbit is!!!!
4. I'm working today and just checked VW, and those exact quantities are left.....

Most dealers suck, well the guys at the parts counter anyway. Most will not look for the part or even search the old dealer inventory for them.
Were these out of a warehouse or on the dealer inventory search?
Another problem is part #'s. Checking for superceded #'s & looking into the last of the cars (year) using the part helps. Maybe if someone used 93 cabriolet they would come up. I have not done a search for these but some tips & things to ask at the counter after you were told a part is NLA.

Re: (vwpieces)

Now looking at the part # stickers I see they are a cabby part # by the 155
Another tip is the 021 is the left & 022 is right... odd number is always left & even number is right.
Not an expert with VW #'s but years of owning VW's & buying & looking for parts has taught me a few things.
If the parts guy comes back in 2 minutes & says NLA... ask questions.

i was actually surprised that they looked up the fenders for me. i asked him to see if they can get fenders for an old skool cabrio, rabbit, or any newer cabrio with the rabbit body style. He came back and said that he has a part number and he checked somewere else and thats how we got them. I guess 3 were local and 1 was in a warehouse somewere.

yeah, just from working at napa, i know you gotta watch that kinda stuff, if they're busy or if you want something that is a pita to get then it's not in stock or w/e. they used to always do that to guys looking for parts for there small engines, always raised my eye brow, especially when we weren't busy and they said they couldn't get something that i knew they could, but i was just a minion so i kept my mouth shut
