Re: Alignment Issues (vwPanda)

Your camber is different on the L and R sides, so your average wheel alignment shop will just get it as good as they can and that's it because there's no obvious adjustment.
Take it to a VW specialist or a shop used to working on Euro cars and they can loosen the four subframe bolts and move the subframe slightly to even up the camber on both sides and also make slight caster adjustments to get everything spot on. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Your average wheel alignment shop will just do a toe adjustment on the tie rods and that's about it.
Cheers.

Yup.
Also, do you have any suspension other than oem? From what I know, wich isnt much, the specifications they look at are for the car as it was built, originally. So, suspension upgrades/kits, springs etc will change the numbers slightly. -just someting to think about.

I have VR6/1.8t spindles, stock shocks, and some kind of shorter springs(the springs were on it when I got it). So this should be correctable by shifting the subframe? How much do places usually charge for that?

Someone who knows what they are doing should be able to set it up nicely. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Can't really tell you price for sure because I'm in Australia, but over here it would be approximately $120 to $150 (Aust Dollars).
Which to you guys, all things being the same would be roughly around $80 to $100 (USD) I guess. But that may be way off due to different labour costs etc.
Cheers

Well how long would it take? I know a decent shop they charge $80/hour

An hour, maybe a bit more, that could depend on whos doing it.
Just FYI, they should really use 4 new bolts on the subframe as well (According to VW). They are stretch bolts and should be replaced once they are loosened, though many places will just re-torque em.
Mine have been re-used and never had any issues with things coming loose.
Cheers.
