14% multiply your purchase by that and add in there whatever costs to have it shipped to a location....... and $3.50 CDN for your bridge fee.
Ive bought 2 sets of tires and no one could even compare with prices within Canada. Sure, I would have preferred to give them business here but money talks.

i got my CHAMPIRO GTs from steelcase tires. 195/55/15 with 4x100 15 inch steelies for 600 cash. the tires are directional and gave me no problems at all

I just priced out a set of Bridgestone Blizzak's 195/55/15 on Borbet Type B 15X7 wheel for $752.00
so for $152.00 more you get brand name tires and alloy wheels instead of steelies

Not only tires Canadian have to pay more, from B.C PX performance a pair of MK4 Jetta Oem hid headlight we have to pay $400 cnd more. Those sucker think we don't know how to calculate the exchange rate so I'll not spend a dollar on them anymore.

Re: (bestvw)

My brother just bought a set of BF Goodrich Mud Terrain KA tires for his Land Rover. Everyone wanted like $286 per tire and he found some place in St. Catharines that had em for $204 not on sale. I'll find out the name of the place. I don't think it's Automotive Warehouse...

if he went down the road to the U.S. he could have paid $ 185 per tire Canadian at the local discount tire on Military rd thats a $76.00 difference all around (thats Installed balanced and taxes included)
Actually thats not that bad but then again its a truck tire which is much much different that a 195-60-14 tire I'll bet

WTF does that have to do with this thread
Who cares about asshatt "Hay look at me " HID's

Purple has a valid point... this is beyond scales of economy...
Purple you said you can buy it and ship it up hwere pay taxes and duties and itd still be cheaper than a the discount tire place 1010tires...
so next question is how is this possible? because technically you can start selling tires for less than 1010tires...
so now whats the difference? is it overhead costs? must be... but is it that more expensive up here than it is down there?
so yeah Pruple has a point when there is a 46% difference in retail pricing...
not sure why, but i think this is beyond economy of scale... just my 2 cents

Hedging against currency fluctuations.
It's the same reason that at this point in time cars are considerably more expensive in Canada than they are in the US.
