i would like to get bigger pistons to increase bore, but not replace crank and increase stroke. i want to keep it revving like a 1.8t, but add a lil torque, and mainly turbo spool with the larger displacement.
can anyone point me in the right direction. i allready got 20mm WP scat rods waiting. and i was thinking about some wisecos. just not sure which bore. or if going 1.9 is worth it, and same with 2.0
as well as cylinder wall strength after boring.
thanks.

what displacement will stock crank/scats, and 83mm pistons make me?

A little under 1.9 liters. I'm running Scat rods with 83mm JE Pistons and stock crank. I had everything balanced by the machine shop that bored out the block. Haven't had any problems yet. However, I only have about 3000 miles on the car. Took the head off a few days ago and everything still look flawless.

any noticable gains with em? spool? power?

Low-end drivability is much smoother. Can't really tell you if there were any major gains in spool or anything as when I rebuilt the motor I also went with a bigger turbo. However, it had no problem spooling up my GT35R .82 to 30 psi by 4800ish RPMs, untuned.

83mm pistons with a stock crank of 87.2mm will give you 1888.67ccm... not really a 2.0L in my book 2000ccm and up

if you want to run some numbers I made a Spread sheet that dose all the work all you do is plug piston size and crank size and number of cylinders. You only use the first 4 numbers in the whole motor volume colum.

what management? and INJS?

Stock management right now, but I'm considering having BmFTechnik tune my car soon. Running 630cc injectors, but I need to go bigger; something like 750cc high impedance injectors.

Re: (Chris164935)

i'll sell you my 750's if you want,

Re: (18JettaPower)

cause there are no forged 92.8's that fit new style blocks.

I know a few people doing 400whp+ on 92.8mm crank in a 1.8t block and on only 22.5psi on pump gas. Are your number goals higher then that?

what 1.8T block is it?
