I was going to build a G60 16v, but now I have spun a rod bearing in my 16v. So Im just going to build the G60 motor. I will be having the head P&P, 270 degree cam, 68mm pulley, SNS chip, custom water/air intercooler, header, highflow cat and 2.25" eurosport race exhaust. I was wondering if anyone has a guess on HP and torque output.
I also have a question about vacuum lines. The guy Im buying the motor from tells me I need a vacuum line to the map sensor thats a meter long. No longer and no shorter. Is this true and is there any other lines I need to make sure that are a certain lenght.
Also, since this will be going into a rabbit with an 020 tranny. Does the 020 flywheel timing marks line up the same as the 02A tranny?
Thanks for the info.

Dude, this topic goes around 16 times per week. The vacuum line on a G60 is 1 meter long, and you'll need a G60 wiring harness/ECU/ TB. Join the 16v G60 Yahoo group and you'll catch right up to where you need to be http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: I need help (G60247)

I have joined the g60 16v group. But Im not intrested in doing the 16v head anymore. Since, I have screwed up my 16v. I know everything I have to do to build a G60 16v. I was just wondering if there was anymore info I needed on vacuum lines. I will be swapping in the complete G60 swap from a 90 corrado.
I will be building an ABF 16v so I can boost that. But for now I will just throw in the G60.

too much torque for your rabbit. You will be in wheelspin city in every gear.
Typically a good condition used g60 motor with 15psi (health , 68mm pulley) should be able to pull about 165whp and a very BROAD 180ft/lbs of torque.
In a rabbit, thats like dump clutch at launch, smoke 1st, hit 2nd, smoke 2nd, hit 3rd, smoke 3rd, chip 4th, by that time you've moved about 50 feet

quaife, mickey's , hollow super-axle's. maybe fast.

Re: I need help (mrkrad)

With my 16v and a 4k tranny 3.94 ring gear. I would drop my clutch at 1800rpm and smoke them though 1st and 2nd. My new tranny (9A) 3.67 ring gear I could launch my car and my tires would fight for traction and spin a little in 2nd and chirp 3rd. On the juice the car would burn 2nd gear at any RPM. I always used it in 3rd and above. I know I will have traction issues thats why I will be using a big cam to help with high end HP and get rid of that low down torque. I will be buying a LSD and drag radials after I finish paying for the lader rebuild. Do you think the cam will help fight low down torque along with the P&P head?
