The only Air being released should be a big Swoosh of your DV valve.You Boost gauge should be on a closed loop and shouldnt leak boost.I have heard of some analoge boost gauges making some noise but even then there is no leak.

Im not sure . Are you hearing just a buzzing sound or a hissing sound like boost is leaking.If its a buzzing sound its harmless but can be fixed if its a hissing sound it should be fixed ASAP.

if he has what my gauge does it is only a harmless buzzing. my gauge still reads correct levels of boost and i dont lose any power or anythign and the buzzing is easily drowned out by turning up the stereo or opening the windows

Inline fuel filter (really small one) placed somewhere along the vacuum line going to the boost gauge should solve the buzzing. If it sounds like air, then the coupling connecting the vacuum line to the gauge should be tightened.
