Kenwood DPX301 in MKV?

I ran across a decent price on a Kenwood DPX301 in a local shop, and I'm considering it for my 2006 mkv rabbit. the crutchfield site says that it *doesn't* fit my car, but i think it's a double din, which should fit with the mounting kit with the shelf removed if i'm not mistaken. anyone with experience with this unit, or any double-din head units in an mkv with specific advice for making this work? thanks

i know the kenwood ddx's fit, and most other DD as well. i would kenwood and ask, or just search some more on here, there was a thread about a month ago with this same question. (it fit)
