Does anyone know of a decent shop that can do a custom exhaust modification in the Tucson area?
(I want to put a test pipe on the car and remove the cat for track days, but I need welding tools because of how the existing one mates to the exhaust.)

Exhaust works maybe?

Called them this morning, left a message for Ken / Kenny. I haven't received a call back.
Have you seen their shop? What do you think of their work?

Brandon Don't get banned from this place. Just keep your current setup, Running a "test Pipe" or no Cat isn't going to give you much of a gain. Plus its a PITA to be swapping from one to the other.

Are you sure?????????????????????????? I know of 2 cases where clogged cats only allowed 14psi. Car should have been making 20-22. After test pipes Stella got her boost back http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
PS - If you want to run a cat get a super high quality one and def get the test pipe for track use

I dont know Man The VF kits running around town are pretty Damn Reliable. I would almost say set it and forget it.

Less likely to go POP!! It can happen but you would have to be a complete tard. Once again you shouldn't need the test pipe

No Bishe you know all. Thats why you sell it and I don't

All Im saying is a "test pipe" is a PITA and not worth it for the extra "HP" you will gain.
Oh and the VF kits looked damn good doing 13 second runs at the track

Freddy, Brandon had some problems with his ignition and is pretty sure he fouled his cat (iirc, an expensive high peformance one) so while he is still get his car running perfect it much cheaper to use the test pipe to get dialed in.

Then I would have said.. Self he has a bad cat lets not get everyone started and try to take this thread in any direction.

Freddy, I have never been "banned" anywhere to my knowledge.

I think we're all good if they do the job in the quoted time and at the quoted price, plus or minus 75%. (That's more than reasonable don't you think?)
Here is the deal...I simply want to eliminate any restriction on the turbo at the track. You see, when the car wasn't running properly, the plugs got fouled, and I suspect the 100 cell high-flow cat also got damaged. (EIP confirms something isn't right after multiple logs / dynos) If so, then this appears to be the next logical / most economical step. (Another high flow cat would be $900 http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif)
I'm not looking for a gain of any kind. The car makes too much power as it is. Although, it would be a nice bonus, but certainly NOT an expectation, how much of a restriction could a 100 cell cat provide?
Image
(EIP claims 100 HP+ gain with the test pipe and race fuel, but I seriously doubt that) It would however be nice to be able to run a leaded race fuel file if I choose.
I've since replaced all the plugs / coils and she is running ALOT better. You know me though, I can't stand staring at that dang CEL.
