yeah we had to replace one stock coil on the sns 2.016VT the stock old one didn't put out enough juice .. msd is even sold in autozone and the like chain stores now.

Could you put here a www page please ? I'm not US, so can't go to store and buy it

You work in a car tuning ?

aside from that, any mk2 coil will work. i had one going bad, too me a while to figure out thats what was making my car shut of, it was intermittin and annoying. finally just out of no where changed the coil with one in a box of 20 i had from spare engines, 16vs, 2.0s, 1.8s, g60s...
but with a turbo motor it wouldnt hurt to look in to the msd. i plan on going that route one day in the near future...

Re: (corradokyd)

we found that when producing high horsepower that the extra juice is necessary. Keep in mind you probably will need a COIL WIRE from GM or something. I don't recall the vw coil wire fitting the msd product. Others may chime in.
I know jwatts reduced misfires on his 314whp+ monster using one. the stocker just didn't handle it.
Be careful with these ignition/coil setups, if your wires are not in good shape you could be in for a suprise shock.
I think DEMON made a 200KVA ingition that would make 11mm wires glow blue at night and str8 up kill ya if you grabbed a live wire

my bro had one of those on his 5.0 stang. crazy stuff there.

Re: (corradokyd)

Thanks everyone!
I am not getting any spark and the Autozones around did not have any MSD in stock and said they wouldn't be able to get until Tuesday (due to MLK holiday today).
Anyway, found a coil in a junkyard -- both current coil and junkyard coil tested OK w/ multimeter (based on what Autozone dude told me to check for resistance) . . .

Still, the damn car didn't start . . . arrgh . . . gotta figure this out. Car was shutting of intermittently then finally DIED. Already checked for fuel pressure and it is good. This did happen within weeks of installing Cartech FMU, but like I said, I checked for fuel pressure and it looks great.

Guys, is it true that the Ignition Control Module is in the ECU???

Re: (mrkrad)

Nope, all connectors look properly in place . . . also had someone else also check all the connections and go through the troubleshooting steps with me

Love my baby, but she's letting me down right now. . .
I think I have a spare Digi-1 ECU (w/ OEM chip) . . . will plug that up and see what happens.
Thanks

yes digi-1 federal (obd-0) contain all ignition components in the ecu.
you didnt unplug the black wire did ya? the odometer gets its rpm from that and if unplugged the spark is gone.
