leaky gasket?

Everytime i try to start my car it turns over and fires for about 2 seconds then the car dies and a little puff of white smoke comes out in between the upper and lower intake manifolds. Would this be a big enough vacuum leak to keep the car from running?

ok so i fixed that leaky gasket and the car still starts for about two seconds then dies.
I think it might be the DPR but I don't know how to check it with the car off. Is there a way to check it with the car off?
if there isn't does anybody have on for cheap?
I don't want to spend a ton of money on a new one if this isn't the problem.
