IIRC autopower sells bolt in half cages ( rear cages) and very little to no hackin up is required

fyi, leftcoastvw's cage was a six point weichers with "custom" cross bar... custom is in quotes because i'm not sure if it is custom ordered from weichers, or if it was custom fabbed just for leftcoast...

Its not custom, they make the crossbar (long wait time though!).
I have the weichers also with the single crossbar. They side bars are behind the seats so there is no fear of bonking your head

i would consider 5'11" as "average"... hahaha... i'm 6'3" and my spikey hair normally touches the headliner regularly

in fact, i have to find a better helmet for track events because my old motorcycle dome cover is too big and forces me to stick my head in the sun roof slot...

yes, i'm a gangly basta*d

thanks for the update eric... i've been hawking the weichers setup for awhile, but have had higher priorities, like engagement rings and then brake swap plans holding me back from buying... maybe after summer i'll give safedrives or weichers a call... http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
trevis, your cage is still dope, though i think i would hit my head on the low bar... i love the goldfinger touch... i can't remember, though... did you guys weld yourselves? or did you end up in a shop with a gutted interior and a few days wait? either way... i'll be excited to see it this spring at one of the cali gtg's or shows

i had a gray autopower in my mk3 2.0 GTI and installed it myself. I didn't do any real effort to hide the mounting of it, drilled right through the carpet ect LOL but i did trim the rear panels and was able to to the back seats back in and I could still have passangers it was just kinda difficult for them to get in and out. I will be installing another one eventually in my Mk4 GTI maybe one with a crossbar this time for harnesses. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

had this in my mk3 GTI

will probably go with something like this in my mk4 GTI, to have a place to mount harnesses
