Re: roads carved in super deep snow.. anyone have the pics (AKADriver)

Seeing as six feet of snow has falled in the past week or so in western NY it should be too hard to find something recent and local.

I want to see those pics again, too. I remember seeing them a while back... probably here in the CL?
Someone had to save them... They were cool.

i think it was somewhere in norway... but it was roads with like 60 foot walls of snow on either side...

Nothing out of the ordinary up in the mountains, happens every year, in fact.

The photo I was thinking of was similar to these, but there was one with a giant snow plow doing its thing, throwing the white stuff up and over those high walls of snow.

Usually they use huge snow blowers, as ploughs cant throw the snow above these high walls. I've been searching for good pics, but I cant find any

When Going To the Sun Road in Glacier Park opens every June, there's a section just east of Logan Pass known as the Big Drift where 30' snowbanks on either side of the road are common. I drove up to the pass on opening day last year, and it was incredible to see the snowbank towering over you. There's also a warning sign to "watch for falling snowdrifts".

I remember seeing a pic like this where a snowboarder (maybe a snowmobiler?) was jumping from one side to another, over people's heads. Probably a photoshop, but cool nonetheless.
