So, after parking under a tree, I got one too many facefulls of dirt after turning on the vents. I went to Home Depot and got a $3 home ventaliation filter...it says it even blocks bacteria! It had metal wires in it. I cut it big enough to cover the intake vent under my raintray and used a bungee cord to secure it. No more filty vents!

sweet.. ill go pick one up as soon as the insurance guy comes around and gives me a check so that i can fix the damage to my car

Wow you did yours nice...Mine's just wrapped arround the grate like the oil on a wine bottle. I'l hav eto try your way, I could use the bungee.

I tried quickly to remove mine, but after the bolts came of, it appears to be held down with adhesive wetherstriping. I'll go get some more striping and try again.
