Im putting in a stereo, and now that i have my dash apart, I see 2 clumps of wiring that dont connect to anything (and ive already removed all old stereo wiring). I dont know much about the electrical systems yet.
1st set of wires (by set i mean they are all wrapped together and then disappear into the firewall): red, red/black, gray, gray/blue, brown
2nd set: dk green, brown, tan (i think), white -->
relay thing--->
lt. green, white, black, brown, brown/white
both sets of wiring were located pretty much in the center of the dash. and they both eventually get wrapped up with other sets of wires and then i have no idea where they go. its going to bother me forever if i put my dash back together and those wires are just sitting back there with no purpose. anybody got any ideas?

Re: Any wiring geniuses out there? (hejso)

The Bentley wiring diagrams are probably your best friend to identify the respective wires.
Good luck, WWR.

Seriously, It is the most important thing you can buy. To answer your question, a picture would help tremendously. based on your description, you could be looking at A/C wiring or something, but a pic would help greatly. GL

it most likly all goes to the original sterio most of it is bs(lites dimmer power antena)use the red-power,red/black-radio mem,brown-ground,these three wires are the ones that count.just run new speaker wire it will sound better.sometimes rabbit radio wires dont switch at the ignition that is how mine is just power off when you leave the car if you have trouble check the fuse box.good luck and rock on

A half decent DMM(digital multi-meter) will go a LONG way to solving any and all wiring questions. Get one, learn how to use it, never worry about wiring problems again.

and a half decent one will run you about $10.

exactly, just make sure you get one that measures current as well (which tend to be a couple more bucks), they are an invaluable tool for tracking down wiring problems.

where can i pick up one of those?

Pretty much any store that sells autoparts should be able to supply one.
