i got a bunch of stuff powder coated the rear swing axle and my 28mm suspension technics bar, plus arms and the front bar, which is not installed yet.
i added spherical rod ends to keep it from binding, and used 8.8 or higher bolts and nuts every where

the sway bar was too narrow and as Shine Racing says when mounted solidly most california style bars bind because the pivot center of the bar and the pivot center of the axle are different.
so since i got the bar basically for free and $200 dollars or more for a shine or any other bar was to expensive i thought why not just get me some heim joints and build me some damn sway bar end links, like what i built fer my shift kit

i would hate to be a squirel or some other little critter cause them end links hang down kinda low

Awsome shift kit.
What's with the Race Face crankset?

Re: my rear bar installed... pics (nigel)

hey i was thinking since there is doubts with the sway being below the axel why not just swing the sway bar up and tighten it above the axel......or has this got to do with how the dymanics of it works??

Re: my rear bar installed... pics (jusanotharabbitracr2)

You'd want the northshore cranks for that, but damn good stuff IMO! I'm a canadian, I breathe that stuff!
Oh, yeah, WICKED BAR!!! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

that was my first choice but i would have but i had clearance issues with the fuel filler neck and the lower shock bolt is shrouded so i would have had to add spacers and a longer bolt to make everything fit just to much of a pain in the ass.
to answer the other questions I ride trials, road, mountain, a little down hill but nothing extreme i grew up racing XC mountain aand made it to pro but burnt out and just ride for fun occasionally now, of course that doesn't stop from having over 10 bikes

Re: my rear bar installed... pics (nigel)

Nigel, cool to hear of another trials rider. I heard they closed the north shore trail sytem with the ladder off to cyclist because Fox racing videos made it so popular that too many people were falling off them and hurting themselves. Any truth to that?
You shift kit looks pretty cool and way less expensive than buying it out right. Can you give me info on how you did that, where to buy the parts, and how well it works?
Thanks,
Jason

GVRD or the Greater Vancouver Regional Development the North Shore Parks board will go in occasionally and cut down some of the ramps and obstacles but overall most tof the trails are intact. there are some many people building stunts up there and everwhere really that there is not enough money in any budget to send people in to shut them all down. i don't know about videos having an effect it is mor ethe local press. wiat till you see some of the new stuff coming out, totally sick. I actually spent part of my formative years living in Delta near Ryan Leech you shoukld have seen the stunts in his yard!
The shift kit works well in my opinion and i have sold around 6, everyone has nothing but good things to say about them. I sourced the stainless steel ready rod, lock washers and ny-lock nuts from alocal distributor called canadian stainless, the rod ends or heim joints are from Auroa beraing down in the states. personally i am used to the kit but when ever some one drives my car they are like wow this is smooth, it seems to fall into gear and when i get into someone elses car it feels find of akward to shift with resistance and less solid engagement. you kind of get spoiled owning one.
just get your center to center measurements accurate from the rods and the angles correct from the ends you are copying and gring the balls of the linkage plates. plus have a bentley handy so you can do a proper alignment after wards and you should be good to go. I send out a new vw bushing kit with each shift kit i sell even though you only need 6 of the parts it just helps clean up some of the play.

Re: my rear bar installed... pics (nigel)

Cool, How much do you sell the kit for?
The bug is catching. There is a park in Jersey where some ambitious folks have started building things similar. Obviously smaller, but there are some real narrow and tall stream crossings. Ladder ramps going down a 50* hill onto a ladder see-saw as well as felled tree rides.
I'm hoping it will get better but Jersey is the 'Land o Laywers' so I'm sure it's not long before....

Re: my rear bar installed... pics (nigel)

Nice Bar Nigel, I have the same thing minus the spherical rod ends. Got from 87 Scirocco. Powdercoated black with the axle so not as flashy as what you have. I'd post pics but I just have the regular paper kind, no digies of the bottom done yet.
BTW, Craig (great guy) at Westmount Motors finished putting in your shift kit yesterday and I'm picking my baby up after work. Can't WAIT to try it out. Craig says it works great! Thanks for making such quality parts, another satisfied customer http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif Too bad I'll be in rush hour traffic http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif

, I guess you get to spend your money on new stuff when it runs right. I blew a tranny(long box) on the way home from Cranbrook, It just got stuck in 4th
so I add my 2H,clutch,euro bumbers, a 60mm(apex) drop with kyb's and a 2" exhaust, timing belt and tensioner(I blew that on another trip to cranbrook) . Yep I like it, it was fun but in return my fuel pump crapped out, 3 days ago I blew 2 holes in my header
Image
oh yeah and for the last month I'v had to do rolling starts. So I'm thinkin my battery and alternator are toast

I'll figure it out hopefully before that cop see's me again. There complaining I did 120 through town, Rabbits dont go that fast
