Over the last few weeks i have been haveing problems with my chip. i took it to euro sport today and they suggested that i upgrade to V10 and that might solve some of the problems i'm haveing, does anyone have any comments on the V10 program...Good??...Bad??
BTW, I have V5 in it now
Thx

Re: GIAC Program Upgrades (hoser125)

What problems are you having? v5 is actually their best program in my opinion. The v10 is fast but has a HUGE flat spot at 3500-4000 and tends to surge up top. I have gone through about 30 revisions of the garret chip and still have problems. Let me know.

I dont have a noticble Flat-Spot in those RPM Ranges with v.10, and with a Bailey DV and ECS N75 the Surging Up top is kept to minimum. Before I had the ECS N75 tho, It left like I was letting off the gas and going back on it really fast in upper RPM's, so yeh it is normally there. But I will tell you one thing. FAST!

Re: GIAC Program Upgrades (Barcad)

I just switched from v.4 to v.10 and although there is a noticable flat spot in that rev range there is no surging up top, or anywhere. I've got evo CAI and a custom 2.5inch turbo back. V.10 is soooo smooth, i give it http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
[edit] I for got to add that there is no surging in 110+ heat which is where a lot of people seem to surge, when its hot.

yeah living in arizona during the summer...is probably the worst... over 100 everyday..it sucks...right now since my i have an AWP I can only use v.10. I was told that if you use V8 or V6, cant remember which one, that during the summer it would be the best, and then get your ecu flashed up to 10 during the spring, fall, and winter. best of luck~~~!!!!

Re: GIAC Program Upgrades (chrisddo)

My problem was that my boost was specing 1700mbar and actuall was about 1500-1700 mbar, it was like it went back to stock boost but left the fuel and timing curves in there as chipped, so i was causing my car to knock and run funny, i think i will stick with the V5, They say they dont have that file. Has anyone else had a chip tuner tell them they didn't have a file? what do they have to do to get the file?

Re: GIAC Program Upgrades (hoser125)

V10 is the strongest if your car is up to the task, V4 is old, V5 is probagly the next best to version 10 if you ahve a weak N75, or a larger DP, V6 is for cars with real bad surging issues and owners who refuse to do their part in making their car work correctly.
