If you lower your car 2" or more (50+mm) You will have a stiff ride and will scrape stuff, unless you only drive on smooth, flat pavement without potholes or road construction.

Hmm . . . Kinda like hitting those quasi-speed bumps on the highway doing 130km/h or around 80mph. I see them coming at the last second, then my body tenses up, I form a death grip on the steering wheel and *BAM!*.
Much profanity ensues . . . most of it directed at PennDOT and just PA in general.

There are also certain intersections where, upon coming to a stop, my car literally rocks back & forth and left & right because the pavement is so buckled and uneven. It feels like I really need an air-ride 4x4 suspension just to pass thru an intersection. It also happens when I turn certain corners. Damn roads . . .

I knew that 4x4 trend would come back... mayb i should sell my eibach pro sys plus kit and vwr handling kit... haha i will learn how it is to drive a stiff lowered car. however, should i run into these issues if i'm roughly 1.4" lowered?
For 4-cylinder owners... this may help...

A hassle when changing oil but it will protect you! If it works for rallying, it will work for street driving.

Im dropped 2.25" and I scraped for the first time in 9000 miles this past weekend at waterfest. I went up the steepest ramp of all time when when i made it to the top the stock exhaust or something under there scraped. That sucked big time!! scared the crap out of me too

So far my drops been good to me.. Ive never hit my chin/skirts/oilpan anywhere in nYC or ruff bronx roads.
H&R coils stifen up real nice on those dips on the highway so Ive never bottomed out http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Exactly, sooner or later you're gonna scrape. I'm not slammin you for slammin, just putting in my $0.02. All suspensions are a compromise between ride height, handling and comfort. Your H&R coils cost about 3x what my Weitec GT kit costs. I'd expect better performance from them.

Nope. My car is/was lowered about 1.2-1.4" front and 1.75" rear. I've never scraped the oil pan. Two fingers width between the tire and fender is good to have. It still looks good and it will be kind to your oil pan.

H&R coilovers with their 22mm front swaybar...and now VWMS strut mounts and front/rear A-arm bushings.
