I bled the system... I think? Added some water and started driving. Now everytime I park and the car cools down slighltly it barfs coolant out the the reservoir tank. The red idiot light blinks because the coolant level is low, so I add more water... I drive and park and the reservoir spits coolant out.
What the heck is going on here?

It's just a screw on cap?... right? Or is it a special?

check the rubber o-ring in the cap, it may have come unseated...

use antifreeze too. not that it helps the problem.. but if you drive hard then it wont boil over... and it dosnt have all the minerals your water might ahve in it.
or use evaporated water at least.

x2....quit adding just water. The point of antifreeze is to raise the boiling point. Also I've had the problem with the o-ring. Bad o-ring and adding water will compound the problem and boil over very quickly.

you have air in the system, try this, park it on a steep incline nose up, then remove cap and let engine idle, fill system and let engine run. this usually purges the system . I like to leave cap on very loose and drive it a little to ensure the air is out of system. this problem usually occurs after system is drained for whatever reason. it gets air pockets in the cooling system affecting the circulation, lowering the boiling point and causing it to boil over.........and always mix your coolant as directed by the coolant manufacturer, pure coolant in the system is unnecessary and wasteful

Replaced the cap...the temp. wavered from middle gauge to quarter gauge to depending on freeway driving (quarter) or city (middle). The previous day, I ran the car 30 minutes with the cap off...I thought that would bleed the system...these cars are obviously a pain to bleed. I guess I will try what you said...

Thanks!

Re: (Matt-K)

check to make sure you don't have buildup inside the small hose from the top of the radiator to the expansion tank, if that hose is clogged you'll never get all the air out.
