Hell yes. Excellent choice for a little run about rig. Just get all the maintenance knocked out and don't be afraid to use the search function. Get yourself a Bentley repair manual and you'll be golden like a shower.
The brown interior in gangster for sure.

so wheres the best place to find bentleys? and what do you guys think about 16v flairs on this beast? it has quarter flairs and i dont really like em, i'd wrather have full flairs. and i also need to find bigger rims for it, like some tear drops. i'm gonna try to keep this sucker retro lookin, plaid roofliner, respray the shell in a nice brown/gold.
does anyone have a picture of a car like mine all retroed out?

Re: (UTdubbin)

If you had 16v flares you would need to find a set of big bumpers, but in my opinion tear drops and 16v/g60 flares don't look to nice. 16v/g60 flares tend to look better when running a wider wheel. Nice car though it looks like a decent one to start with. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

damn you guys on the east coast get shafted on the rust...

yea tell me about it, the reason i got this car was because on my truck (95 nissan) the frame had so many holes and cracks there was no way it was passing inspection or that it was really safe. on the way to picking this car up we stopped to look at a 91 golf wolfsburg, the guy wanted 2k for it and it was so rusted out that it was unbelievable. east coast ftw!

Re: (Jeepr21)

so today got the golf on a lift at my friends dads shop, checked out the underside, fixed some surface rust and fixed the bumper hole that is pictured up above. well as i was spraying the underside with some undercoating my friend calls me over to look at my subframe. lucky me, the subframe has a hole in each side where it bolts to the a arm. so now i have to debate as to whether i want to patch it for now or find a newer one and put it in which i hear is a pain.

man i love my mkII's!!

replacing the rusted out subframe now (especially if you have acess to a lift) is a lot less of a pain than picking your engine or suspension components off the side of the road when it finally gives out. i vote to replace it now & save a lot of trouble.
