anybody know where to buy recaro fabric? plz?

i need the red/ grey stripe fabric from an '87 gti 16v. i would post pics, but my camera is jacked. not the red/ grey with "gti' embroidered in it. i might have to reupholster the whole car, but my back seats are near perfect & the top half of the fronts are good, it's just the bottom half or the fronts, so i don't need much fabric. does the dealer carry it? a

to whoever can help me. helios fabric could be cool, too...

Saw someone selling NOS fabric similar to what your looking for. Might want to try there.

Your better off sourcing a better set if your planning on keeping the pattern because i've only seen 1 set of fabric NIB in my entire life. If they were Recaro's you could order the fabric from a place in Japan (only place i know of & they bought what was left from VAG) You don't have recaro's so that hinders your chances.

your way better off investing in a new set of recaros, if you have them re-upholstered its going to cost quite a bit of money. ask me how i know, well i ended up paying $800 to have a set of trophies re-upholstered. im not complaining because they are practically brand new now, but i could have saved myself a couple hundred since ive seen mint trophies on here for around 5-600. however your talking about the grey recaros which you can easily get for 2-300 for a nice minty set http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

They're not labeled "recaro", but they are the recaro design. They're black pleather/leather sides, with red & grey multi-stripey centers. They're not the grey gti sport seats with the 2 or 3 red stripes & "gti" embroidered in it. 2-300$ for new seats is not an option. Recovering them is no problem, my dad did car upholstery for 30 years, & taught me tons, so I'll just do them myself, I just wanted to keep it looking original, & I don't wanna put in that much work redoing the whole car if I don't have to. The back seat is mint.
