Basically running stand alone and running a 1.8t in a corrado no rpm signal no distributor but i ve got an msd box with an autometer tach tapped into it.
cluster rpm gauge doesnt work so basically i got tap into something. So g60 cluster which pin or wire is for rpm in cluster

weird i tried to tape into this pin 10 from the cluster wire to my autometer tach which gets signal from my msd box which is hooked up to my stand alone.
NO RPM SIGNAL

dude:
post what kind of standalone you are using.
Post why you are using a MSD with standlone?
We're confused with the lack of information you have provided.
most SEM and Modern ECU's (motronic) provide a simulated 0-5V Linear RPM signal to feed modern tachometers.
The g60 cluster itself when working with digifant-1 w/distributor actually does this inside the cluster since it is reading impulse signals. I guess you could call this an ass-backwards way of how modern ecu's do it, but that is the tech that vw had back then before motronic

Re: (PUREDREAMZ)

ok heres the deal u guys sent me a link of the fuse panel diagrams and what section is for what.
http://mysite.verizon.net/macm...I.htm
Basically a local vw shop told me under the g1 section there should be a tach signal, which was g12 under the g1 connector it said tach from coil i tried nothing.
wanted it to work really badly so i tried again under the g1 section g4 said coil power/ idle speed power (altitude correction/fuel cut-off power, diesel), i tried nothing.
I thought maybe i did something i even setup the stand alone like u mentioned and the manual sent the aux out to the signal and under input/output setup on the laptop TACH OUTPUT which under the haltech manual states:
Tacho Output Used for driving tachometers when running a multicoil
ignition set-up. This output combines all of the multicoil
signals into one output and this is used to provide an RPM
measurement.

Am i doing something wrong, or i m on the wrong wire
