Grinds sometimes while shifting into reverse???
New clutch. Could it be an installation problem???
Thanks |
Clutch isn't disengaging. Look into bleeding it. Allowing it to grind can chip the gear.

Try putting it in 3rd first before reverse, should eliminate the grind. |
That will wear the forks, clutch parts and gears. The clutch issue needs sorted to repair it.
Putting it into any forward gear forces the sync for that gear to fight the clutch that is dragging and eventually the sync will match shaft speeds, allow the gear to be engaged, and it'll force the input shaft to a stop. You can then quickly select reverse before the faulty clutch starts spinning the input shaft again, and reverse will engage without a grind, but at a cost of accelerated wear on the other parts.
